I’m joining a few fellow blogging friends for a fun Pinterest challenge, where we recreate a photo with our own creative twist. Thank you to Cindy @countyroad407 for being our challenge host!

Our photo inspiration was this sweet basket of flowers hanging on the interior of a simple white front door by Karen @santuaryhomedecor. It’s proof that wreaths can go far beyond the traditional!
One of my favorite things about these challenges is how differently they can be interpreted. From classic wreaths to baskets and unexpected pieces styled as door decor, there are so many beautiful ways to create a welcoming front door for summer.

30 Creative Front Door Wreaths and Decorating Ideas
As the main entrance to your home, your front door is the first thing guests see, and it gives your guests a little peek into your home before they even step inside. Adding something creative to your door, whether it’s a wreath, a basket, or something a little unexpected, is such an easy way to make a great first impression.
From DIY wreaths to a few unexpected ideas you can pull together in minutes, there are so many fun ways to add charm and personality to your entryway.
Here are 30 unique wreaths and creative ideas to inspire your front door this summer.
Summer Floral Wreaths
If you love decorating with flowers, these wreaths are some of my favorites for summer. From soft hydrangeas to cheerful daisies, they add just the right touch of color and charm to a front door.
1. Dried Hydrangea Wreath
Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers to use for summer decorating, especially once they’ve dried. Dry a few hydrangeas of assorted colors and create a stunning wreath, then finish it off with a vibrant bow for a little extra color.

2. Fresh Lemon Wreath
Add a pop of color to your door with this pretty DIY wreath made with fresh lemons. It starts with a base of faux greenery, with lemons wired on for a bright and cheerful look. You can see the full tutorial here.

See a quick video here on how to make your own unique front door wreath with fresh lemons.
3. Neutral Black and White Elegant Wreath with Greenery
A few quick changes to my lemon wreath, and I created this neutral wreath with white anemones, greenery, and a cute little bird’s nest.

4. Wreath with Dried Hydrangeas and Lavender
This beautiful wreath by Amy @amysadlerdesigns screams summer. And Amy makes it look so easy by pairing faux hydrangeas with lavender on her grapevine wreath.

5. Faux Succulent Wreath
An assortment of faux succulents and greenery attached to an unusual twig wreath makes a stunning summer wreath. Swap out your ribbon from season to season, and this is a wreath that you can easily display all year round.

6. Sweet Daisy Wreath
I adore this sweet daisy wreath from Ann @onsuttonplace. The contrast between Ann’s front door and the wreath makes a simple statement.

7. Eucalyptus and Floral Wreath
How elegant is this bright pink contrast of the eucalyptus and floral wreath against the blue door from KariAnne @thistlewoodfarms? Simply stunning and so simple to make, too!

Unique Garden-Inspired Wreaths for Your Front Door
If you love bringing a bit of the outdoors in, these garden-inspired wreaths are an easy way to freshen up your front door and entryway for summer.
8. Flowerpot Wreath
This clay pot wreath is one I designed long before my blogging days, and I still love it. To make your own, just wire the clay pots onto the wreath and decorate it with faux greenery and moss.

9. Garden Hose Wreath
I adore this garden hose wreath from my friend Lora @lorabloomquist. Her creativity knows no bounds. A collection of garden hoses from flea markets and a few vintage garden tools inspired her to create this wreath.

10. Vintage Yard Tool Wreath
I’ve always loved creating with vintage garden pieces, but this wreath holds an extra special place in my heart. After recent wild fires, I wanted to find a small way to bring a bit of beauty back to a dear friend who lost her home and garden. I used old yard tools to create a meaningful wreath for her front door.
It would also look so pretty displayed on the door of your she shed or your garden fence, as I have shown here.

11. Rainbow Succulent Wreath
I made this wreath several years ago, and it was stunning! Gather an assortment of rainbow-colored succulents and plant them directly into some moss to create a beautiful living wreath.

12. Clay Mushroom Wreath
Want to include a bit of whimsy in your unique summer front door decor?
These colorful mushrooms are so cute, and I love how Anna @skylarkhouse put them on this pink Excelsior wreath.

Patriotic Wreaths and Door Hangers
Patriotic decor is always a favorite this time of year. These holiday wreaths and door hangers are a simple way to bring in a touch of red, white, and blue and make your front door feel ready for Memorial Day and Fourth of July.
13. Rustic Red, White, and Blue Rag Wreath
A mixture of a faux green wreath with festive gingham fabric strips, burlap, and ribbon creates a patriotic feel.

14. Americana Wagon Wheel Wreath
This wagon wheel wreath started as one of those unexpected thrifted finds that I just couldn’t pass up. With a little paint, some ribbon, and a few simple patriotic touches, it turned into a wreath that feels rustic, unique, and perfect for summer. I love how something so simple can make such a statement on your front door

15. Patriotic Door Basket with Summer Flowers
This patriotic door basket from Jen @midwestlifeandstyle is such a creative alternative to a traditional wreath. Filled with a mix of red, white, and blue summer annuals, it’s a unique way to create a fresh and festive look for your front door.

16. Nautical Fourth of July Buoys
If you love a more nautical feel, Jennifer @tattertotsandjello created her version of this cute and creative buoy decor. Perfect for Welcoming guests to a Fourth of July party on the lake or a poolside BBQ.

17. Neutral Star Wreath
I love this neutral star wreath from my friend Rachel @thepondsfarmhouse. This wreath is guaranteed to add some farmhouse charm to your front door.

Vintage and Upcycled Front Door Ideas
If you love a more traditional wreath, these ideas are anything but ordinary. Each one adds a fresh and creative twist to a classic front door wreath.
18. A bushel, a Basket…
Turn a bushel on its side, place a bird’s nest on a bed of moss, and drape some faux greenery trailing out of the basket with a touch of blue flowers for a one-of-a-kind summer wreath that is guaranteed to be the talk of your block.

19. Rustic Box Spring Wreath
Try upcycling a few old box springs into a fantastic wreath like this one for a rustic touch this summer. A few clay pots filled with greenery fit perfectly into the box spring. In the center, a DIY bird’s nest adds the final finishing touches.

20. Coastal Rope Wreath
I’ve always loved taking something simple and giving it a fresh new look, and this rope wreath is one of my favorite projects. I started with a basic rope base and styled it with soft blue and white ribbon, along with a few collected seashells for a light, coastal feel that’s perfect for the summertime.

21. DIY Moss Vintage Picture Frames
This is one of my favorite projects. I purchased old picture frames at the thrift stores and added moss to them to create these beauties. I decided to hang them on the wall of my front porch, but there is no reason why you can’t hang this frame on your front door.

22. Rusty Bicycle Rim with Succulents
I found this photo on Etsy, but you can find yourself an old rusty bicycle rim at the local flea market or garage sale. Then, attach a moss base using a hot glue gun and plant your succulents directly into the moss. (Psst…Did you know you can hot glue the succulents into the moss, and they will live? How fun is that!)

23. Picture Frame Wreath with a Bird’s Nest
Regina @savedfromsalvage paired a vintage picture frame with a bird’s nest, green moss, and some greenery for a fresh-looking door decor.

Colorful and Unique Wreaths and Decor for Your Front Door
This is where things get a little more fun! These colorful and unique wreaths and door decor ideas are perfect if you want your front door to feel cheerful, creative, and just a bit unexpected.
24. Lake House Buoy Door Hanger
My friend Diane @southhousedesigns lives on a lake and welcomes her guests in style with these adorable buoys. AHOY, FRIENDS! I love this idea for a beach or a lake house.

25. Straw Handbag Door Decor
This is a fun and creative idea from my friend Missy @sonatahomedesigns. Start with a thrift store straw bag and fill it with colorful summer stems.

26. Rainbow Flip-Flop Wreath
Isn’t this the cutest? I need one of these rainbow flip flop wreaths for my pool gate.

27. Wooden Hanging Box
I love the creativity from my friend Crystal @sweetvalleyacres. A wooden box replaces the traditional wreath and is filled with delightful flowers.

Creative Front Door Decor Ideas (Beyond the Wreath)
Door baskets are a simple and creative alternative to a traditional wreath. They’re perfect for layering in greenery and seasonal accents for an easy summer update.
28. Vintage Hanging Basket Filled with Moss Mushrooms
For my take on the Pinterest challenge inspiration, I used a vintage hanging basket filled with crumpled brown paper and layered in greenery, Spanish moss, a moss ball, and two DIY mushrooms.

Those little moss mushrooms have really come in handy. I’ve used them on my kitchen table, my front porch, and now a few have made their way onto my front door.
They just add a bit of charm wherever they go.

29. Door Hanger with Lemons and Greenery
I love how my friend Kristy @athomewithkristy created this gorgeous summer door hanger using a yarn-wrapped basket. The faux lemons, greenery, and that blue and white striped bow just make it feel so fresh and summery.

30. May Day Basket
May is the perfect time to add fresh flowers to a sweet basket to hang on your door. You can even use flower vials with water to keep them fresh.

A Few Final Thoughts
That about wraps it up for me. I hope you found a few unique wreaths for your front door and some fresh ideas to inspire your summer decorating. Sometimes it’s the smallest changes that make the biggest difference.
Until next time!
