Your Home Deserves to Feel as Beautiful as the Memories Made In It
Step inside, this is where cozy meets creative.
Whether you’re finally tackling that room that’s been “almost done” for years, searching for a garden project to get your hands into, or just craving a little seasonal refresh, you’ve found your people. I’m Wendy, and this is WM Design House: a warm corner of the internet filled with DIY tutorials, garden inspiration, seasonal decorating ideas, and recipes that bring everyone to the table. Grab a cup of tea and stay a while.
Does Any of This Sound Familiar…?
You scroll through beautiful homes and lush gardens online and think, I want that. But somewhere between the inspiration and the doing, it all starts to feel a little overwhelming. You’re not sure where to begin. The projects you do start sit half-finished. Every season comes and goes without that wreath on the door, the centerpiece on the table, or the raised bed in the garden you’ve been meaning to plant.
Maybe you’ve tried a few tutorials that assumed you already knew things you didn’t. Or you’ve bought supplies that are still sitting in a bag. Or you look around your home and feel like something’s missing; some warmth, some character, some you, and you just don’t know how to get there.
You don’t need a designer’s budget or a magazine-worthy house to start. You just need a little guidance from someone who’s been there.

This Blog Was Made for You
Real projects. Real results. No intimidating instructions.
At WM Design House, I break every project down into approachable, step-by-step tutorials so you can actually do the project, not just pin it and forget it. Every idea I share has been tried, tested, and photographed right here in my own home and garden. I know what works and what doesn’t, and I’ll walk you through it like we’re doing it together.
Whether you’re looking to style a seasonal tablescape, grow your first cut flower garden, make something beautiful out of what you already have, or put a homemade meal on the table, I’ve got you covered through every season of the year.
Hi, I’m Wendy
Welcome to My World
I grew up in rural Pennsylvania, foraging in the woods with my mom and grandmother for things we could use to decorate and cook with. My mother was a floral designer, so our home always had fresh flowers and the smell of something warm in the oven. That upbringing planted something in me that I’ve been growing ever since.
For over 25 years, I designed handbags and seasonal gift programs for major retailers — a career that took me around the world in search of beautiful, unique things. Now I’m doing what I love most: making our 1898 home in Southern California feel like the sanctuary it’s always been, pottering in the garden, creating from my She-Shed studio, and sharing everything I learn right here with you.
I’m also very happily fed by my husband David, who is the real chef in this house. I handle the atmosphere; he handles the meal. We’ve been doing life together for over 37 years and somehow it just keeps getting better.
I’m so glad you found this little corner of the internet. I hope it inspires you to make your home feel a little more like you.
