Saturday Sharing From the She-Shed Volume 42

Happy January!

It’s been a few weeks since my last Saturday post – life got unexpectedly busy, and we were under the weather for what seemed like forever!

But I’m thrilled to be back on track and sharing with all of you today.

Luckily, we were in good health for Christmas, and the sickness only hit us around New Year’s. Our kids visited on the 28th, and we joyfully celebrated our daughter-in-law’s birthday along with our grandson’s first birthday!

Sydney, Wendy, and Callum are celebrating birthdays!

My granddaughter Madison and I made Callum the cutest cake. We used a small round chocolate cake with a few ding-dongs and turned it into the cutest little bear smash cake.

I have to admit, he relished every mouthful! And it was a delight for all of us to witness him enjoying his first cake. Needless to say, a kitchen sink bath was an absolute necessity after this sweet celebration!

What’s Happening at WM Design House?

For the past few months, we’ve been diligently working on painting our house. This old gem, adorned with wood shingles and siding, required a significant amount of attention, considering she is over 125 years old.

We’re making significant progress and approaching the final stages of the project.

Today, I was thrilled to place the furniture back on the front porch!

However, some gardening and re-potting still needs to be done to bring everything together. Those vibrant blue pots that used to grace the front of the house won’t complement the new color, so new pots were a must.

The color choices were not easy, but I decided on very neutral flower pots so I could add color with my seasonal decor.

  2. Your talent never ceases to amaze me Wendy, that bear cake looks professional! Looks like someone really enjoyed his first birthday too! I am glad your painting is coming to an end. I cannot say I think I would enjoy painting an entire home, but that has probably more to do with being on a ladder than anything else. Heights and I do not get along. I am glad to hear you are feeling better, take care my friend.
