I love gold foil, it is so pretty and has a shine like nothing else! I had made some gold foiled pumpkins in the fall and then I did some pears for the

Christmas, so today I decided to try some hearts.

I bought a box of heart ornaments from Michaels, see the link below.

I purchased the foil on Amazon, did you know that it comes in an array of colors, check it out,  you get 12 different colors.

You will also need some gold leaf adhesive, you can find it on Amazon at the below link

Here are the directions you will need to follow to create these beautiful hearts, it gets a bit messy, but enjoy and have fun!

  • Use a dry paint brush and paint a layer of the adhesive onto a section of  the heart ( you need to do this in sections )
  • Let the adhesive dry for 10-15 minutes until it is tacky
  • Carefully take the sheet of foil and lay it over the tacky part of the heart
  • Repeat steps 1-3 until the entire heart is covered with the pink foil
  • Take a dry, clean paint brush and brush off any excess foil and you will see that the brush will smooth and burnish the foil

The end results are stunning! You can experiment and use several colors.

I also used some flat wood hearts and just foiled parts of the heart and I love the results, however I did find that the wood absorbed the glue quickly so it was a bit harder to work with.
