How to experience the Flower Fields of Carlsbad, California
Have you ever been to a flower field???? I mean it is truly amazing ( If you love flowers like me)
We were on vacation in lovely San Diego last week.
It was a great relaxing week with wonderful friends. We rode our bikes, took great walks, crafted, and did a lot of laughing.
San Diego is fairly local for us, but we always enjoy our time there. My husband is a big foodie, so we ate at the most amazing restaurants and tried some unbelievable food.
One of my favorite days was spent in Carlsbad, it is the cutest little beachside town.
Carlsbad is a 9-mile-long beach along the coast near San Diego. It’s known for Tamarack Surf Beach, backed by the Carlsbad Sea Wall, and secluded South Carlsbad State Beach. This is also the home of Legoland California theme park which includes rides, a water park, and the SEA LIFE Aquarium.
From March first through Mother’s Day Carlsbad is also the home to the seasonal flower fields of ranunculus, which is truly a sight to see.
Where To Get An Amazing Cup Of Coffee
We started our day with an amazing cup of coffee at “The Goods”, such a cute and charming coffee and donut house on State Street, which is filled with darling shops.
I tried a Chagaccino, an organic mushroom coffee drink that is supposed to boost your immune system, it was delicious, sugar-free, and under 40 calories, my kind of drink.
As much as I wanted to try the donuts, I had to pass, we had been on quite the eating fest, so I decided to pass, but they sure looked amazing.
The Antique Stores
We then hit the antique stores and found a few treasures, I bought a great mirror I am going to gold foil for my office, and a large white ironstone tureen for $25.00, such a bargain.
There were also several cute dress shops along the way to browse.
The Flower Fields
Then off we went to visit the flower fields, as you know I love flowers, so this was truly heaven to me.
There were miles of flowers and the hills were so brilliant and colorful.
This was a first for me so I just lapped it all up…..
This 50-acre working farm offers something for everyone.
- You can stroll through the picturesque fields of flowers, overlooking the Pacific Ocean!!!
- Wander through the fragrant sweet pea maze
- Visiting the poinsettia and orchid displays
- Take a ride on an antique tractor tour around the fields
- Pick blueberries in the blueberry patch
On our way home, we stopped at the strawberry fields to pick some fresh strawberries. They were so delicious and it was so fun to wander the beautiful fields of berries.
If you happen to live in Southern California or are planning a trip to San Diego, I highly recommend a day in Carlsbad.
Wendy, this was a lovely blog post, I would love to have seen all the sweet peas, that maze is made for me! It looks and sounds like a wonderful trip, I definitely want to do!
Oh, the sweet peas were amazing, I am sorry I did not get a better picture. Hoping you are doing well and thank you for taking the time to read my blog post. You are a sweetheart.
