My Obsession for Apothecary Jars is a real problem according to my husband!
I love apothecary jars, I enjoy filling them with candy for the holidays, or using them to store my craft items in my craft room, or gathering several to create a vignette on a table.
I have to admit, I have never seen an apothecary jar I didn’t love. I particularly like to collect them from estate sales. I particularly love old jars with beautiful glass lids, you can still buy beautiful new jars, but I love the hunt to find fun and unusual jars. They are beautiful empty as well as full.
They have so many uses and you can change out what you put in them for different seasons. You can plant in them, you can store soap in them, you can put candles in them, their uses are truly endless.
Today I wanted to share a little secret I have when I fill the jars with candy, are you excited!!!
When you fill these large jars, it can cost a fortune, they take so much to fill them.
So I turn a everyday drinking glass upside down and place it in the middle of the jar and fill it around the glass. Isn’t that brilliant! LOL
But it truly saves you from having to buy so much filler. ( plus there might be a little leftover to eat )
For Easter this year, I decided to use pink strawberry jelly beans for two of my jars, Jordan almonds ( I can’t walk by without eating one ) and Robin’s eggs…
I like to fill the jars to the very top and then hope that nobody eats the candy, haha! and if you do, I will find out who you are:))))
You can see below in the jar with the robins eggs that someone has had their hand in the candy jar!!!
I also like to use the jars for cookies, I use your basic white oreos and start to stack the cookies around the edge only. once I get half way up the jar, I insert the glass upside down, this not only takes up space, but it helps to keep them in place as well.
I also have large jars that I keep my flour, sugar and a few sweet marshmallows in for my grandaughters.
If there are plenty of beautiful jars to purchase
And then fill them with these yummy treats
