Sunday Sharing from the She Shed 1.5.25
Happy Sunday, friends!
I hope the New Year if off to a great start for you.
We spent New Year’s Day at the Rose Parade in Pasadena; we are so fortunate to live so close and to be able to enjoy this parade each year. If you have never been, it is one of those events you need to add to your bucket list. The floats are so beautiful, and the entertainment is top-notch.
If you have never heard of the Rose Parade, it started over a century ago in Pasadena, California. The parade floats have evolved into breathtaking works of art, showcasing state-of-the-art technology hidden beneath layers of flowers and other natural materials. Every New Year, visitors are treated to the stunning beauty of these floral masterpieces, accompanied by vibrant marching bands and elegant equestrian units along the 5.5-mile route down Colorado Boulevard.
It feels like forever since I last wrote this post! I’m so sorry if you’ve been waiting for it—I really appreciate your patience. 2024 turned out to be such a whirlwind, and there were moments when I felt like I could barely keep up. But I’ve missed connecting with you, so I’m making it a priority to share these posts every other week. I absolutely love giving you a little peek behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to catch up!
Let me first catch you up on what’s been happening at home ! Last fall, we started painting the exterior of our house, and we absolutely love the fresh new look. Our tenants moved out of the back house, so we decided to move our son into it after he recovered from his back surgery in October. He’s 31 and deals with a challenging connective tissue disorder, so having him close to us is the best arrangement. He’s loving life in the back house! We’ve been fixing it up—added a bathroom (it’s almost done!) and cleared out the garage to make it just right for him.
We also had a wonderful family gathering with all four of our children and six grandchildren right before Thanksgiving. And exciting news—next year, we’ll be welcoming one more little one to our growing family! It was so heartwarming to have everyone together under one roof.
What is Happening at WM Design House
I don’t know about you, but it felt like the holidays just flew by this year! Losing that extra week between Thanksgiving and Christmas really threw me off. Next year, I’m definitely planning ahead to stay more on top of things.
Right now, I’m still juggling my regular job, blogging, and the everyday chaos of life. Retirement isn’t too far away, though, and I’m looking forward to having more time to dedicate to my blog when the time comes.
I’ve got so many exciting things planned for 2025, and I can’t wait to share the journey with you! Up next, I’ll be prepping the garden for spring and diving into some fun DIY projects. We’re also giving the master bedroom a mini makeover and adding some wallpaper downstairs to freshen things up. It’s going to be a busy but exciting year!

If those pictures of a living area and bathroom are from the guest house your son is a lucky guy. We recently did something similar with our son. In Oct we sold our house and moved into one with a guest for him to live in with his little family. He has Type 1 Diabetes complications and is losing his eyesight plus a multitude of other on going health issues associated with autoimmune disease. Their little place is quite small and in need of some renovation plus decorating. I’ll be working alongside our DIL to help her feel comfortable for as long as they will be living there. It’s nice having them next door with our the 4 yr old grandson. I applaud you for your care and concern.
