Today I took a trip to the Los Angeles Flower Market, If you haven’t been, you should put this on your bucket list.
It is a wonderful market full of fresh flowers for blocks….. you can purchase what you would like and you do not need a special
card to purchase, however they will charge you to get in.
There really is nothing better then fresh flowers in the house.
Choose your favorite flowers, today I bought hydrangeas, roses and peonies, so dreamy!
First you need to clean your flowers, this means open up all of the bundles, trim away any leaves, thorns or pedals you do not want.
Give the stems a clean cut and put them in a bucket of water to hydrate them.
I like to soak the heads of my hydrangeas in water for about 5 minutes to hydrate them, they seem to last longer.
Next I prep my container, I attached some scotch tape to the top or the vase to create a grate to hold the flowers. If you have floral tape, you can use this instead of the scotch tape.
I then start inserting the largest flowers first, I started with the hydrangeas, as I trim the stem, I dip it in a solution call quick dip.
You can purchase this on Amazon. This solution helps to open the veins of the flowers to hydrate them better.
Last;y, I add the roses. I try to put the stems in at an angle so they look nice in the clear vase.
